Stasis

Recently I’ve been exploring composition and learning more about my creative process. And I found that sometimes you don’t feel like you’re moving anywhere—but that’s okay!

I wrote a piece about that idea—Stasis. I had this harmonic idea I randomly stumbled across in a practice room at CCM one day after work this summer. Between generating that idea and sitting down to write out a melody 3 months later, I felt stuck.

But turns out my body and brain needed some serious rest and time away from music after last year. Now things are finally synthesizing again, and I’ve been having a lot of fun putting this piece together! I’m excited for you to hear it :)
